Here is a question someone emailed me with that I want to address:
“Will it work with double-stranded twists instead of braids? I ask because i just think my hair looks better in 2-stranded twists than in braids. Have you had anyone use your system with double-stranded twists instead of braids?”
Locs, in and of themselves, can definitely be started with two-strand twists, of course. But no, they wouldn’t necessarily be considered Bradelocz simply because of the fact that they’re NOT started with braids. They’d just be locs started with twists and maintained using the Latchin’ method (IF that is what you chose to do to maintain the roots).
Bradelocz are specifically locs started with braids and maintained using the Latchin’ technique.
BUT…that is NOT to say that you can’t use the information in the eBook to care for and maintain your locs because there are some tips in terms of care and maintenance that can be used regardless of whether you start with braids or not such as: how to eliminate (or at least minimize) unraveling when shampooing, how to tighten them, styling tips, etc.
So if the question is whether or not you can use the information presented in the Bradelocz Guide for locs started by other methods, the answer is yes but again, they won’t actually BE Bradelocz per say. But hey…I won’t tell if you won’t! 🙂
Blessings & Warmest Regards,
